NU MASCULÍ N.1

Recorda acadèmies del dèneu, pero tan sols per l’estètica i el motiu, doncs no reuneix dos criteris fonamentals de l’acadèmia, a saber la idealització i una factura final suau i acurada. Ací hi ha realisme, pinzellada solta i gest vist, junt a una il·luminació focal molt localitzada que introdueix dramatisme i tensió a l’escena.

It recalls nineteenth-century academic painting, but only in terms of its aesthetics and subject matter, as it does not meet two of the academy’s fundamental criteria, namely idealisation and a smooth, carefully refined finish. Here, there is realism, loose brushwork and visible gesture, combined with highly localised focal lighting that introduces drama and tension into the scene.
