Nascut a Moixent el 1990. Comence a pintar l’any 2004, descobrint una autèntica vocació i ofici que m’acompanyaran tota la vida.
L’any 2021 experimente un gir molt important quant a la temàtica: deixe arrere els paisatges que treballava per endinsar-me en el retrat, concretament en el retrat de la meua gent, del meu entorn. I això es convertirà en el leitmotiv de la meua obra fins a l’actualitat.
L’any 2022, paulatinament la figura es va tornant anònima, el personatge es converteix en una eina. Apareix una llum focal i artificial, el contrast i allò teatral, com es fa palés en la sèrie tenebrosa i en els retrats d'aquesta mateixa època. El model deixa de ser el tema i passa a ser el mitjà per a explicar alguna cosa pròpia. La foscor no és només una decisió formal, és el reflex d’anys en què vaig romandre ocult, amb por de mostrar-me i brillar, a més d’haver silenciat la meua necessitat de crear.
Després de l’etapa d’introspecció anterior, a mitjan any 2025 torna finalment la llum. Trac els models a l’exterior, recupere la il·luminació natural i les figures solitàries són reemplaçades per composicions de múltiples figures que es relacionen entre elles.
L’any 2026 va emergint la sèrie urbana, que situa el personatge en el seu context. Comence a valorar la importància del lloc des del qual hom opera, els comportaments inercials i les formes de vida marginals, situant el personatge en el seu context. Un context i un entorn que ara, en gran mesura, expliquen la història.
Born in Moixent (Valencian Country, Spain) in 1990. I began painting in 2004, discovering a genuine vocation and profession that would accompany me throughout my life.
In 2021, I experienced a major shift in terms of subject matter: I left behind the landscapes I had been painting and immersed myself in portraiture, specifically portraits of my people and my surroundings. This would become the leitmotif of my work to this day.
From 2022, the figure gradually becomes anonymous; the character becomes a tool. This is when my visual language matures. Focal, artificial light emerges, together with contrast and theatricality, as can be seen in the Tenebrist Series and the portraits from the same time. The model ceases to be the subject and becomes a means of expressing something of my own. This darkness is not merely a formal choice. It reflects years spent hidden away, afraid to reveal myself and to shine, as well as having silenced my need to create.
In mid-2025, light finally returns. I bring the models outdoors, recover natural lighting, and solitary figures are replaced by compositions of multiple figures interacting with one another.
As a result of the previous period of introspection, the urban series begins to emerge in 2026, placing the figure within its context. I begin to recognise the importance of the place from which one operates, of habitual patterns and marginal ways of life, situating the figure within its context. A context and environment that now, to a great extent, tells the story.
FORMACIÓ / EDUCATION
2005–2009. Painting studies at the studio of painter Vicent Giner i Valls in Xàtiva (Spain).
2019–2021. Studies in classical drawing from life and live models at the La Mercè School of Art in Girona (Spain).
2021. Oil portraiture course with painter Javier Arizábalo in L’Escala (Spain).
