Colour palette limited by the minimalism of the scene and centred on the light of a warm day drawing to a close, against the outline and silhouette of the island of Capri. Its sinuous, organic form contrasts with the angular, artificial breakwaters in the foreground—hard elements set against the natural landscape that surrounds them. The contemplative figure evokes a sense of calm and stillness, while at the same time bearing witness to the scale of each rock.
